The N Seoul Tower observatory in brief

The N Seoul Tower observatory is the part of the tower that most visitors come for: indoor observation decks high in the tower and a terrace for the open air. The tower stands on Namsan at 105 Namsangongwon-gil in Yongsan-gu. This page explains the floors, the view, the love locks and the services, so you know what the ticket gets you into.

Check the operating status first. On 31 October 2026 the operator's English homepage carried the notice "OBSERVATORY TEMPORARILY CLOSED" without naming a period. Look at the operator's current notice before you travel and before you buy a ticket. The regular hours are on the opening hours page, and the prices are on the ticket page.

Observation decks on Tower 4F and 5F

The tower's floor plan lists the observation decks on Tower 4F and 5F and a roof terrace on Tower 2F. Other services use their own floor labels. For example, the ticket machines are on 5F and the ticket counters on Tower 1F, so do not assume that every "5F" is the same place. Read the sign at the entrance before you ride the elevator.

The tower itself measures 236.7 m, made up of a 135.7 m tower body and a 101 m steel mast. That is the height of the structure and not the height of the observation deck. The operator and the city tourism site give different figures for the elevation of the viewing level, so this page does not quote one.

How far you can see

The operator says the view reaches up to 50 km, but only in clear weather. A hazy day gives you less, and the same view can look very different between a bright morning and an evening with the city lights on. Pick the time of day to suit what you want to see; the page about the tower at night covers the evening side.

The view is across the city and the surrounding hills. Because the tower sits on the mountain, you start the visit already above the streets, and the elevator takes you up from there. A clear day matters more than any equipment you bring.

Love locks and the Love Tree

Love locks are a part of the Namsan experience. The operator names a Love Tree on the plaza as the intended place for locks, and padlocks are on sale at the N Gift shop on Plaza 1F. Use the Love Tree, do not fasten locks to other railings, and keep your key instead of throwing it away. Some combined tickets do not include a padlock, so plan to buy one on site if you want one.

Media art and tower lights

The city tourism site describes OLED media installations in the tower complex, and the operator describes changing LED colours and patterns on the tower itself. They are separate features. Neither comes with a fixed show time that you can plan around, so enjoy them as part of the visit rather than as a performance you need to catch.

Restaurants inside the tower

The tower has three restaurants on its floor plan: n.GRILL on Tower 7F, HANCOOK on Tower 3F and THE PLACE Dining on Tower 2F. The cuisines are French, Korean and Italian. The evening page has the details, including how a reservation at n.GRILL connects to a free observatory ticket.

Accessibility and services

Wheelchairs can be borrowed for free at the information desk, and strollers are lent for free too; the operator advises reserving a stroller on weekends and public days off. First aid supplies are on site, and a nursing room is next to the N Sweetbar. Pets are not allowed in the tower, according to the city tourism site in 2026.

Do not assume a step-free route all the way from a subway platform to the observation deck; plan the approach with care. The cable car runs from the foot of the hill and the Oreumi lift helps near Namsan Tunnel No. 3, but each leg has its own conditions. See the getting there page for the options.

Combining the observatory with the cable car

The observatory ticket and the cable car are priced separately by the operators. Some ticket products bundle the observatory with a round-trip cable car ride and are collected in Myeongdong; read the description of the option before you pay, since inclusions differ between products. The cable car page explains the fares.
