Incheon Airport to Seoul: your options
Incheon International Airport (ICN) lies outside Seoul, so the trip to the city is a train, an airport bus or a taxi. For N Seoul Tower the natural target is Myeongdong, at the foot of Namsan, or Seoul Station, where Line 4 leads to Myeongdong. From there you continue by cable car, bus 01A or 01B, or on foot, as described on the how to get to N Seoul Tower page.
No total travel time from ICN to the tower is available, because it depends on terminal, traffic and how you climb the mountain. Treat the train and bus times below as the ride only, not as door to door.

A guided first day in Seoul
A small-group palace and city tour with central pickup fits the day after you land; it is not an airport transfer.

Taxi and transfer from Incheon International Airport (ICN)
The one price rule worth knowing is the International Taxi zone tariff.
Seoul's taxi tariff page lists approved International Taxi zone fares from ICN. For Zone C, which includes Jung-gu (Myeongdong) and Yongsan-gu (where the tower stands), the fare is 85,000 KRW in a mid-size taxi and 120,000 KRW in a large or deluxe taxi, with tolls included. That is a zone tariff for those approved services, not a fixed price for every taxi at the kerb.
A regular taxi runs on the meter. A mid-size taxi in the daytime starts at 4,800 KRW for the first 1.6 km. Night surcharges add 20 percent from 22:00 to 23:00 and from 02:00 to 04:00, and 40 percent from 23:00 to 02:00. On an airport ride, tolls and permitted extras can come on top. No total driving time to the tower is available, so allow for traffic.
If you would rather settle the ride before you fly, a pre-booked private transfer is a simple option: a driver is waiting when you land and you skip the platform and the queue.
For the first full day, a small-group royal palace and Seoul city tour includes pickup in central Seoul and an English-speaking local guide, so you do not have to work out the transport on day one.
AREX Express to Seoul Station
The AREX Express is the fast train. It takes 43 minutes from Terminal 1 and 51 minutes from Terminal 2 to Seoul Station. The displayed adult fare is 13,000 KRW and the child fare 9,500 KRW. The operator also lists reference fares of 18,500 KRW and 19,100 KRW for the two terminals; they are a different figure from the displayed fare, so do not mix them up when you compare prices.
You need a separate ticket before boarding, and seats are reserved. Tickets are sold at the Incheon transport centres on B1 and at Seoul Station on B2.
AREX all-stop train
The all-stop train is slower and cheaper. With a transport card, an adult pays 4,750 KRW from Terminal 1 and 5,350 KRW from Terminal 2 to Seoul Station. A single-journey card adds 100 KRW to the fare and a refundable deposit of 500 KRW. The ride takes 59 minutes from Terminal 1 and 66 minutes from Terminal 2. These are pure train times. The all-stop line also serves Gimpo and Hongik University, which matters for Hongdae stays on the where to stay page.
Seoul Station to Myeongdong on Line 4
At Seoul Station, change to Line 4 toward Myeongdong. The city's airport guide gives about 1 hour 10 minutes from Terminal 1 to Myeongdong as a rough guide. The climb to the tower comes on top of that. Read the Myeongdong page for the walk to the cable car.
Airport bus 6015 to Myeongdong and Namdaemun
Airport bus 6015 connects Incheon with Myeongdong, Chungmuro and Hoehyeon near Namdaemun. An adult ticket costs 17,000 KRW and a child aged 6 to 12 pays 12,000 KRW. The city's guide also names bus 6001 to Myeongdong, which takes about 1 hour 20 minutes from Terminal 1 depending on traffic; that figure is not an exact timetable for 6015. If your luggage is heavy, a bus to Myeongdong saves the change at Seoul Station.
Arriving at Gimpo (GMP)
Gimpo Airport is served only by the AREX all-stop train, not the Express. The line runs via Hongik University and Gongdeok to Seoul Station, and an adult pays 1,750 KRW with a transport card. Plan the trip on to Namsan separately.
K-ETA exemption until 31 December 2026
Citizens of Germany and the USA are on the list of nationalities exempt from the K-ETA until 31 December 2026. Nothing is promised beyond that date, so check the rule again if you travel later. The exemption is not a general permit for work or for every purpose of stay, and it is not a guarantee of entry at the border.
